Music From Copland HouseThe House’s acclaimed touring, resident chamber ensemble is engaged in a variety of concert, recording, educational, and community outreach activities. Educational ActivitiesCopland House presents programs like Start the Music (informal, interactive performances) and Speaking Musically (in-school composer visits) for young people, to introduce them to American music and its richly diverse world of sounds and ideas, and to excite them about musical composition and the creative process. Copland House also organizes such related activities for students and adults as exhibitions, film screenings, lectures, and workshops, often in collaboration with other educational and community entities. Public ProgramsCopland House offers a growing array of events that focus on musical creativity, including The Composer’s Hour, a performance and discussion series featuring America’s leading composers exploring the creative process, HouseWorks, showcasing works composed at Copland House MusicTalks, presenting prominent individuals in and out of the music world discussing their musical passions.
